HammondPOS
Offline POS continuity

Hospitality POS that keeps service moving when the internet drops.

HammondPOS offline continuity is designed to keep essential till workflows available on a previously provisioned device during a temporary internet interruption, then reconnect and synchronise safely when service returns.

Continuity, not guesswork

The till makes the loss of connection clear, retains supported work locally and returns to its normal connected workflow when service is restored.

Exact offline scope depends on the provisioned device, plan and venue workflow and is confirmed before installation.

Keep taking ordersContinue supported core till activity during a short outage.
Retain local workHold supported transactions on the provisioned device until reconnection.
Local printingContinue supported LAN printing while the venue network remains available.
Reconnect safelySynchronise queued work after the internet connection returns.

What offline continuity is designed to protect

Essential order taking

Keep the locally available menu and supported order workflow accessible instead of stopping the till at the first loss of internet.

Service evidence

Retain supported offline activity for controlled synchronisation and reconciliation rather than relying on handwritten totals.

Receipt and prep printing

Where the local network and configured LAN printers remain working, supported receipt and preparation-ticket routes can remain available.

Clear recovery

Once connectivity returns, the till can send queued work back to HammondPOS and return to its normal connected workflow.

What still needs connectivity

  • Cloud administration and live reporting
  • Immediate cross-terminal updates
  • Online customer and loyalty lookups
  • Integrated services that require a live provider connection
A Dojo terminal may retain its own mobile connection, but an integrated payment cannot be assumed to work while the POS device itself is offline. The agreed fallback procedure is set during installation.

Offline capability works best with a prepared venue.

Reliable routers, a sound local network, wired receipt and kitchen printers and a documented card-payment fallback all remain important. HammondPOS offline continuity is an operational safety net, not a reason to ignore the venue network.

Offline POS questions

Can HammondPOS work without internet?

On a supported, previously provisioned device, offline continuity can keep agreed core till workflows available through a temporary internet interruption and synchronise supported work after reconnection.

Will every feature work offline?

No. Cloud administration, live cross-terminal updates, loyalty balances and integrations that require an online provider still need connectivity.

Will printers continue working?

Supported LAN printers can remain available when the venue's local network is still operating. An internet outage and a complete local-network failure are different events.

What happens when the internet returns?

The till reconnects and synchronises supported queued activity so the venue can return to its normal connected operation.

We can demonstrate the supported offline workflow remotely and agree the venue's operating procedure before the installation visit.
